The "Military Commissions Act of 2006" bill passed on Friday gave President Bush the power to declare himself to be above the Constitution and the laws of the United States. The allegiance of American citizens is no longer to the flag or the freedoms for which it stands, but to Bush himself, and any diversion from that allegiance will mandate arrest, torture and conviction in a military tribunal. This blatant disregard for the constitution is something not seen since Hitler passed the Enabling Act in 1933.
